Absa Bank Ltd (Absa), member of Barclays, has been appointed as the financial solutions and services provider for the Oudtshoorn Municipality. The appointment allows Absa to consolidate its position as a significant financial solutions provider in the public sector market, and in particular in the Eastern and Southern Cape.
Absa is proud to partner with the Oudtshoorn Municipality to support its mandate to provide equitable and affordable services and sustainable socio-economic development for communities in the area.
This tender announcement is confirmation of the Municipality's confidence in Absa as the 'Go-To' public sector financial services solution, helping it to achieve sustainable economic development as well as elevating the quality of life of the people which the Municipality serves, says Stephen Seaka, Head of Public Sector Coverage, South Africa, Corporate and Investment Banking, Absa.
We are pleased to play a role in assisting the Oudtshoorn Municipality to achieve its priorities, reach its economic development goals and provide essential services for its consumers. We are looking forward to further growing this partnership and strengthening our presence in the Eastern and Southern Cape Province through the provision of innovative financial solutions, added Seaka.
Absa already banks a number of municipalities in the Eastern and Southern Cape, including the Buffalo City and Nelson Mandela Bay metros, George Municipality, Laingsburg Municipality and Prince Albert Municipality.
Every business relationship with the public sector is important to Absa in building partnerships with government institutions so that we become more than just a banker to them. The bank seeks to play an important part in helping local government entities in fulfilling their challenging mandate of delivering services to communities, concluded Seaka.
Absa was chosen for, among other factors, its cash management solutions, online banking platforms and commitment to making the lives of its customers much easier through solutions-driven services, as well as meeting their needs to optimise business operations and costs.
